Star fruit is a tropical fruit, renowned for its distinctive five ridged shape that creates star shaped slices. It has a crisp, juicy texture and a sweet-tart flavor, often described as a mix of grape, apple, and pear. Low in calories and rich in Vitamin C, it is widely used in salads, juices, and stir-fries.

When ripe, star fruit appears mainly bright yellow with tinges of light green. They may have some dark brown along the five ridges—this is normal. The flesh should still be quite firm to the touch.
